INTRO
Your nervous system is connected to every part of your physical body. When the nervous system senses danger or an emotional threat, it reacts in different ways to keep us safe. There is a science behind these mechanisms called ‘Polyvagal Theory’, which you will learn more about in this workshop. Polyvagal Theory suggests that by understanding the fluctuation of these different response states, we can better manage our own health.
CONTENT OF THE COURSE
During this afternoon, you will dive into your own nervous system and its functions. Our nervous system can be in different states, for example fight/flight, freeze and rest. In order to learn how to identify these survival states, you will be given tools to map your own nervous system. In order to heal our nervous system, we need to first identify that it is dysregulated. This way, you will understand what’s happening in your body when you find yourself in certain survival states. During this workshop you will also learn how to self-regulate with somatic exercises.
FOR WHOM IS THIS COURSE
For anyone who is interested in learning more about the nervous system. Also, if you experience psychosomatic symptoms such as tension or pain in the body, this workshop can offer tools to deal with these issues in a healthy way.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You will learn about the different states of the nervous system, what your specific patterns are and how to bring yourself to a state of safety and regulation.
KEY TAKE AWAY
You can learn to befriend your own nervous system and start to feel more at ease and safe in your own body.
