Somatic Guidance

My name is Hannah and I am a Somatic Guide. I specialize in creating a safe space for you to explore areas of the body where difficult emotions may be stored. Together, we will bring awareness and compassion to these places. We’ll find out what underlying message or invitation your body signals to you. By doing so, your body can slowly on release tension and stress so you will find more freedom and ease in your everyday life.

In Somatic Guidance, I help you release stored tension and tap into your body's self-healing capacity. It is a method that does not include touch, but rather seeks to investigate the body from the inside. This will help you:

  • Develop more resilience

  • Understand your own survival mechanisms (freeze, fight/flight, fawn) and

  • Feel more relaxed in your body

  • Be less overwhelmed by your emotions

The word ‘soma’ comes from ancient Greek and is usually translated as ‘the body’. It really means the ‘living wholeness of a person’ which includes the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspect of the human being.

Sometimes, you find yourself blocked by something that happened in the past or held back by a very strong belief that you cannot seem to free yourself from. It can feel like an old way of being that just doesn’t seem to work anymore. Usually the body reflects our own blockages in the form of pain or contraction. Investigating these blockages in the body can be very liberating, because it allows you to move on and find more freedom in your everyday life again. Your body is the compass during this process: that’s where all the answers are found.

WHAT IS SOMATIC GUIDANCE?

I really enjoyed my sessions with Hannah. We were able to access layers within me that I knew were there, but now I was able to finally connect to these parts. This created more space for feelings and thoughts that are normally in the background of my experience. Hannah brings a lot of presence to her sessions and there’s also space to laugh, be silent and sometimes just wander to pick up where we left. Everything is welcome. I also really enjoyed our meditations together, they felt like coming home.
